We met with Şebnem Çelepoğlu Dindar, the founder and design director of the porcelain brand Casi Paped, which offers a simple elegance to living spaces with its contemporary style and colors, at the beautiful table she set in her home. What is your favorite time of the day? Morning hours, thanks to the location of my house, watching the sunrise from the Kandilli ridges is the greatest pleasure. Where are you happiest in your home? My kitchen because discovering new flavors with different, current tastes makes me happy. Spending time in the kitchen and trying healthy recipes feels like therapy. What's on your nightstand? My books, glasses and lampshade. What is your home shopping addiction? Aromatherapy is a field I am interested in. I follow and try different, natural scents for the home. Are you a good hostess? Yes, I enjoy hosting guests and letting them taste my new flavor discoveries. I expect them to accompany me on my journey of discovery in the kitchen. What do you miss the most when you are away from home? My cats Joseph and Josephine and my parrot Pap’i. What would you like to change or renovate in your home and why? Everything in my home is ideal for me, I don't want to change it. Which product/appliance/white goods do you use the most in the kitchen? My juicer for smoothies, my coffee machine and my wireless hand mixer... Do you like to receive/give home-related gifts? I love to gift my friends with porcelain products from my own handmade workshop. How are you with home technologies? I am very good with technology, I like to follow all the innovations and adapt them to my home. My cordless, rechargeable hand mixer is so cute and practical with its design that it has become an indispensable household appliance. I found a mini fridge for the bathroom and put my skin serums and creams in it. What does the table mean to you? For me, the table is a space that brings friends together, where conversations begin and memories take shape. I love the cheerful and enthusiastic long tables of Italians. I prefer tables that unite people around them. For this reason, I prefer to set tables that are cheerful, where colors energize people. What inspired you while preparing this table? I went for lilac and beige tones that are easy on the eyes with their details. I used these colors on the serving plates. Live flowers are a must for me at the dinner table. I presented lilac wild roses in handmade vases I made myself. Flowers and candlesticks were at the center of the table. The play of light created by the candles on the flowers added depth to the table. I used the candies in harmony with the tones on the table and added a nostalgic atmosphere to remind us of the joy of the holiday.
